Contributions may only be made by individuals who are residents of Ontario. Corporations, businesses, trade unions, clubs and organizations cannot contribute.
The maximum contribution to Justin Perks’ campaign is $1,200 per individual.
An individual may contribute a maximum of $5,000 in total to all candidates running for the same municipal council.
Contributions must come from the contributor’s own funds. Someone cannot make a contribution on behalf of another person.
Contributions over $25 cannot be made in cash. E-transfer is permitted provided the transaction clearly identifies where the funds came from.
A campaign receipt will be provided for contributions. Municipal campaign contributions are not eligible for federal or provincial income-tax credits.
If an individual contributes more than $100 in total, their name and address must be reported on the campaign’s financial statement.
Contributions that do not comply with the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 will be returned where required.
