Ontario’s municipal voter-registration process has changed for the 2026 election. Elections Ontario, rather than MPAC, now maintains the provincial register used to prepare Meaford’s preliminary voters’ list. Once that list is provided, the Municipality of Meaford is responsible for processing local corrections and additions during the election period.
Because of this transition, do not assume you are automatically registered, even if you voted in the last municipal election.
Helpful tips:
Confirm that your name, address and school-board support are correct.
Seasonal residents and eligible non-resident property owners may also qualify to vote.
Property must be personally owned or rented. Property held by a corporation or trust does not qualify.
Keep appropriate identification and proof of your qualifying Meaford address or property available.
Watch for your Voter Information Letter, which will contain the information needed to vote online or by telephone.
Voting will be open from October 16 at 10:00 a.m. until October 26, 2026, at 8:00 p.m.
